Say hello to this cutie

Easter is giving me a chance to do some faceup practice :)
I went from liking this face, to hating it, and now I sort of like it again:

The rooted head gives her the biggest forehead in the history of foreheads, but other than that I think I sort of like her :) I tried not going for my default blue eye color, and turns out brown was a hard color to achieve :P
Anyway, she just brightened up my day and I wanted to share :)

In bigger news, I ordered a compressor today! Because of easter it will take a while to get it, but it is ordered and I couldn’t be happier! I’ll soon be able to start practicing airbrushing!

They are finally here! My girls first pair of shoes!

I really like them, but the size is way off. I couldn’t get her flat feet in them, even if the length is more than enough. She can get them on using the high heel feet, but they are too short to fill the shoe too.

I knew it would be a challenge to find shoes that fit well, so I am still happy with these :) Those grey tights dont go well with them however, so I need to make her something cute eventually.

Alpaca and airbrush!

It turns out I did order bundled alpaca after all, I am so confused. My order history shows unbundled, but this was definitively bundled!

Lets have a look at what I got:

To be honest, 1 oz wasn’t as much as I thought it was (so of course I went ahead and ordered some more), and I did lose a lot of fiber during the process, but honestly I think it was a little bit my fault because I was rushing through the process :P I was so excited to see if I could get it all clean and white, that I didn’t really spend as much time as I should have, cleaning the fibers.

I had to wash it several times to end up with clean water, but I should have spent more time loosening the fibers and removing grass and dirt.

The same goes for the ombre effect, I really should have spent some time learning HOW to get a nice transition, but I rushed the first couple of locks, so they didn’t turn out great. But I admit, I enjoyed the process a lot. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough to make a complete wig for Kira, but I started one anyway. The fibers are also extremely long, and just too long for my tiny dolls. I need to figure out how I can cut it and still have nice feathery ends.

And here is my new baby!
I almost messed up so badly, I was watching some tutorials on how to take thing this apart and clean it (just to be prepared for when I can actually use it) and for a few minutes there, I didn’t think I was going to be able to put it back together. The trigger sort of fell out, and I could not figure out how to get it back in! My savior became a youtube video, in german! I had no idea what they were saying, but the video was so clear that I could figure out just by watching it :)
And I think I learned very much by messing up. Now I know how to take the whole thing apart, and put it back together again :)

I still need to watch some more videos, but I have plenty of time since it’ll be a while before I can get a compressor.

I will continue my wig adventures as well, and I really want to get some more colors to dye with!

Eyes, MSC, and plans!

I dont know what it is, but whenever spring approaches I get so inspired to play with my dolls!

But now I have a serious problem.. I can’t seem to get hold of MSC any more! I recently sold my spare minifee moe body, so I wanted to invest in some MSC so I can start preparing for spring and summer, since it takes a long while for it to arrive by boat, but I could not find a seller anywhere! Well, I found one, but the prices were so insanely high, it was not an option..

So once again I started looking at airbrushes. Andreja has a wonderful video about sealants that you can spray on using one of those, and it is also far less damaging to ones health which is a major bonus. I did some research, and found 2 airbrushes I wanted. I chose the simpler of the two, it was also a lot cheaper, and I plan on using it only for sealant. I still haven’t gotten it, I will post some pictures once I do :)
But of course, I also need a compressor to make the airbrush work, so now I’m going to start saving up for one.

I also treated myself to another pure neemo body, for one of my floating obitsu heads. Still waiting for that as well, haha!

I’m still waiting for the alpaca hairball as well, the pink dye has arrived and is sitting patiently waiting for me to make a mess of everything!

The eyes that I ordered for Cygne arrived, and they don’t really look as advertised.. But still, new eyes are fun, so have some photos!

She is so gorgeous, I just really want some awesome eyes for her. These were supposed to have the entire rainbow in them, and I guess they do, it’s just nowhere near as intense as the promo photos.

Honestly, I’m just so excited! I cant wait to look at my new airbrush, and I do have one can of MSC left so I can start some faceups if I feel like it while I save for the compressor :)

What have I gotten myself into?

I’ve been wanting to make wigs for the longest time, but alpaca sure is expensive.
I tried ramie, a cheaper alternative, but honestly I found it awful to work with despite others saying they like it. It got _everywhere_! Also, it is very short.

So I decided to try a cheaper alternative, raw alpaca. Now, I knew it would involve a lot of cleaning to get it ready, but as I’m reading about it it seems that people think it is such a huge pain and boring process, so I wonder if it’s something I’ll hate doing as well.

Only time will tell I guess, I only ordered 1 oz to begin with, and I went ahead and ordered some dye as well, so at the very least I can make a little wig for Litja :) She hasn’t gotten anything new in some time, so it will be fun to bond with her while making her a cute little wig, and learning all about alpaca cleaning, dyeing and wig making with her by my side.

I hope the materials get here soon, so we can start this mess of a project ^^
